That energy is a huge part of what inspires all of us every day and drives our own excitement for what we are creating. We want to thank everyone for their excitement for Redfall and Starfield. The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them. We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023.

Keep in mind that they launched the Xbox Series X|S while also delaying Halo: Infinite for a full year. They’ve delayed not just one, but two major releases, Redfall and Starfield. Next month, we may see something come up during the upcoming Microsoft and Bethesda Games Showcase. Bethesda Massive news this morning as Bethesda has done something both standard and simultaneously still surprising.

Without Starfield, Microsoft doesn’t seem to have a marquee game release for the holiday season.

Presumably, we’ll still see a gameplay showcase soon during not-E3. As a counterpoint, Bethesda didn’t officially announce Fallout 4 until five months before its release. Both games are now slated for release in the first half of 2023. Some may point to the lack of Starfield gameplay that has been seen. Bethesda announced that two highly anticipated console exclusive games for Xbox, Starfield and Redfall, have been delayed. After the Cyberpunk launch, crossing your “t’s” and dotting your “i’s” is probably a good idea. A little more time in the oven for polish is never bad.

Both of those still could be true as much as we love Bethesda games, they are notorious for their bugs. A recent rumor from a developer was that the game was “looking good,” and a beta was coming soon. On the other hand, Starfield seemed on track to hit its originally planned November release. Developed by Arkane Austin, little to no information has been available since then. Arkane Studios and Bethesda will be teaming up once more to bring us. Redfall was originally announced during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 Showcase in June of last year. After almost four years of development, Redfall was revealed to the world and was one of the main talking points from E3 2021. Bethesda announced on Twitter today that their highly anticipated upcoming games, Starfield and Redfall, are delayed until next year.
